Reuters reported that the selection of Senator Marco Rubio to occupy the position of Secretary of State makes him the first Latino to hold the position of chief diplomat in the United States, explaining that he is the most extremist on the short list drawn up by Trump for the position of Secretary of State, and in recent years he has called for a strong foreign policy related to… America’s geopolitical enemies, including China, Iran, and Cuba.
Earlier, Rubio (53 years old) stated in interviews that Ukraine needs to seek a negotiated settlement with Russia instead of focusing on restoring all the lands that Russia seized, adding during his interview with NBC, in September, saying: “I am not on Russia’s side, but unfortunately the reality is that the way the war in Ukraine will end is through a negotiated settlement.”
Rubio is one of 15 Republican senators who voted against a $95 billion military aid package for Ukraine, which was passed in April.
