Dr. Muhammad Abdel Rahim Al-Bayoumi, Secretary-General of the Council, participated Supreme Council for Islamic Affairsin a scientific symposium organized by the Faculty of Arab and Islamic Studies for Girls – Al-Azhar University, entitled: The Methodology of Noble Al-Azhari Thought, today, Sunday.

Dr. Muhammad Abdul Rahim Al-Bayoumi spoke about the importance of morals and spiritual education, indicating that morals represent a third of religion, stressing the importance of spreading enlightened moderate thought and the practical application of morals.

In his lecture, Al-Bayoumi talked about the first axis of the ministry’s work, which focuses on the necessity of confronting religious extremism, confronting extremist thought, dismantling its ideologies, and confronting terrorism, extremism, and violence.

He also discussed the second axis of the ministry’s work, which is confronting non-religious extremism, which is the decline of values ​​and morals, while emphasizing the necessity of confronting these phenomena with comprehensive awareness programs.

Dr. Al-Bayoumi stressed the importance of building a human being. To be of strong character, passionate about knowledge, armed with morals, and loyal to his country, explaining the role of the family in raising its children with good morals, valuing the role of the teacher in raising his students before teaching them; Until a generation emerges that provides goodness and benefit to humanity.

He reviewed the work efforts of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs by issuing many books and intellectual references that refute extremist discourse and discuss the foundations of moderate thought in a systematic manner, explaining that these publications included accurate analyzes of the beliefs on which extremist groups rely to clarify their falsity and emphasize the authentic Islamic values ​​that call for peace. And coexistence.

Al-Bayoumi added that the Council focused in a number of its publications on confronting non-religious extremism, by raising awareness of the dangers of atheism and the decline of societal values. These publications included social and psychological studies that highlight the importance of rebuilding the system of values ​​and morals.

Dr. Al-Bayoumi highlighted the Council’s programs, which spread the noble morals that our true religion has urged us to do, spread enlightened moderate thought, and spread the culture of tolerance and peace.

Dr. Al-Bayoumi concluded his lecture by affirming that the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs embodies Egypt’s civilizational role as a beacon of moderate thought and a main pillar of the values ​​of dialogue and world peace.

At the conclusion of the symposium, Dr. Muhammad Abd al-Rahim al-Bayoumi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, received an honor for the great efforts made by the Council in serving the dissemination of enlightened, centrist Al-Azhar thought.
