Major General Imad Kadwani announced Governor of Minyaabout the governorate winning an appreciation award for the participation of the Youth and Sports Directorate in the field of open public spaces within the Sustainable Developmental Local Impact Initiative, at the World Urban Forum.

This came after his participation in the Board of Governors meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and in the presence of Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Governors.

Major General Kadwani added that the governorate has witnessed, in the past three months, remarkable progress in a number of important development and service files, within the framework of the political leadership’s directions to achieve comprehensive development, pointing to the improvement in the quality of services provided to citizens and following up on the progress achieved in meeting the required standards.

In the context of the file of reconciliation of building violations, the governor stated that Minya is progressing at a rapid pace to complete this file, as well as the file of legalizing state lands, as 12,272 contracts for housing and agriculture have been issued, in addition to continuing to conduct inspections from spatial variables units, as part of monitoring and planning efforts.

In the field of urban planning, the governor confirmed that the planning of many villages has been completed and the detailed plans of some other areas are being updated to ensure that population needs are met and urban growth is regulated.

With regard to controlling prices and providing basic commodities, Kadwani pointed to the governorate’s efforts to offer goods at reduced prices of up to 30% through fixed and mobile sales outlets spread across the governorate’s centers, and to provide food commodities while continuing to intensify monitoring campaigns on markets to control prices and prevent monopolistic practices in all their forms.
