The Department of Photography at the Higher Institute of Cinema issued a statement expressing its denunciation of the Cairo International Film Festival administration’s neglect and refusal to facilitate the procedures for obtaining entry cards for the institute’s professors, explaining – according to what it said – that it is something that previous administrations that used to cooperate positively were accustomed to.

The statement, which he published on his Facebook account, stated: The Cairo Festival, which is organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, must take into account the role of the Higher Institute of Cinema as one of the Ministry’s educational institutions that contribute to graduating generations of Egyptian and Arab filmmakers.

The Institute stressed the need to treat its professors with appropriate appreciation and respect, especially since the Institute’s graduates and students have, for decades, constituted the largest artistic bloc in the festival’s activities.

Cinema has one of its institutions.
