The General Meteorological Authority announced its weather forecast for today, Wednesday, December 11, 2024. The authority explained that the weather remains mild during the day in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, and the northern coasts, and warm in South Sinai and South Upper Egypt, while it will be cold during the night hours.
Today’s weather
Meteorology said in its statement that the weather will include dense water mist in the morning that may reach the point of fog at times on some agricultural and highway roads close to bodies of water, which calls for caution while driving.
Expected weather phenomena
As for the seas, the Red Sea is moderate, with waves ranging between 1.5 and 2.25 metres, making it suitable for most marine activities. On the other hand, the Mediterranean Sea is mild with waves ranging between 0.5 and 1.25 metres, which provides additional stability. On the northern coasts.
Regarding the winds, they are moderate in all regions, with speeds ranging between 20 and 28 km/hour, which contributes to the stability of the atmosphere and enhances the feeling of thermal moderation during the daylight hours.

Greater Cairo: 22° maximum, 13° minimum.
Lower Egypt and the Canal cities: 21° maximum, 13° minimum.
Northwestern coasts: 22° maximum, 11° minimum.
Northeastern coasts and central Sinai: 24° maximum, 14° minimum.
South Sinai: 28° maximum, 15° minimum.
Red Sea mountain ranges: 28° maximum, 15° minimum.
North Upper Egypt: 23° high, 8° low.
South Upper Egypt: 29° high, 11° low.
Authority advice to citizens
The authority advised to be careful while driving in the morning due to the thick water mist, and to wear clothing suitable for cold weather at night, in addition to following weather updates to avoid any sudden changes.
