The Supreme Council for Media Regulation, headed by Engineer Khaled Abdulaziz, issued a decision to form a committee to control the performance of sports media, headed by Counselor Abdul Salam Al-Najjar, Vice President of the State Council and member of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation.

The committee’s members include: Mohamed Ibrahim, sports program official on Egyptian TV, Dr. Mohamed Fadlallah, professor of physical education at Helwan University, engineer Sherif Amin, sports management expert, journalist writer Ibrahim Rabie, journalist writer Ayman Badra, and journalist writer Ayman Abu Ayed. .

The committee is responsible for following up and monitoring sporting events that are covered in newspapers and media outlets, controlling professional sports performance in a way that preserves the values ​​and morals of society, and following up on commitment to applying written standards and customs (codes) issued by Decision of the President of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation No. 62 of 2019.

The committee is also responsible for studying press and media coverage of sporting events and preparing a report on this study, examining the violations that are monitored, verifying their proof, proposing the appropriate decision regarding them, and other topics referred to it that are related to the nature of its work.

The committee may take what it deems appropriate to verify the violations are proven, and it may summon anyone who has a connection to the subject of the violation to hear the necessary clarifications, provided that it prepares a report with its opinion on what it concludes to be presented to the Supreme Council for Media Regulation for a decision. The committee’s decisions and recommendations are taken by an absolute majority, and in the event of a tie, the majority prevails. The committee’s side is its chairman, and if there is an obstacle to its chairman from attending one of its sessions, the oldest member of the committee will take his place. The committee may seek the assistance of whatever expertise it deems appropriate to facilitate its work without He has a counted vote.

This comes in accordance with Law No. 180 of 2018 regulating the press and media and the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, its executive regulations issued by Prime Minister’s Resolution No. 418 of 2020, and other regulations issued by the Council.
