Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, began an inspection tour of a number of health facilities in Giza and Cairo governorates. This is within the framework of monitoring the performance of the health system, and the work of developing and raising the efficiency of public hospitals, in addition to ensuring the quality and efficiency of medical services provided to citizens. He was accompanied by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development, Minister of Health and Population.

Dr. Mustafa Madbouly’s tour includes the “Umm Al-Masryeen General Hospital” and “Boulaq Al-Dakrour General Hospital” in Giza Governorate, during which he is accompanied by Engineer Adel Al-Najjar, Governor of Giza. He is scheduled to inspect the hospitals: “Dar es Salaam Oncology (Hermel)” and “Boulaq Abu El-Ela.” And the “Nasser Institute” in Cairo Governorate, during which he was accompanied by Dr. Ibrahim Saber Khalil, Governor of Cairo.

The Prime Minister began his tour by inspecting the “Umm al-Misryeen General Hospital,” and upon his arrival, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly stressed that the state gives the health sector great attention in an effort to provide various health services to citizens, and to work continuously to improve their level of quality, in accordance with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic. , continuing in this regard, pointing out that the projects being implemented to establish and develop health facilities would contribute to achieving these desired goals.

In the same context, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar stressed that there is great interest in achieving the Egyptians’ dream of comprehensive health coverage, pointing out that health care is always at the top of the state’s priorities for building people and achieving sustainable health development, and that there are directives from the political leadership to accelerate the implementation of the system. Comprehensive health insurance to cover all citizens and their families under the umbrella of this system.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar reviewed an overview of the health projects implemented and being implemented from 2014 to 2024, which numbered 1,219 projects in 27 governorates at a total cost of 177 billion pounds, of which 24 projects were implemented in 11 governorates from 2022 to 2024 at a cost of 7.34 billion pounds. pounds, adding that the number of projects expected to be completed in the fiscal year (2024-2025) in 11 governorates, amounting to 20 projects with a capacity of 2,649 beds, at a cost of 10.7 billion pounds.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that the plan (2024-2025) includes 54 projects in 24 governorates to add 10,529 beds, at a cost of 60.3 billion pounds, noting that the plan for the second phase of the comprehensive health insurance project will include the governorates of (Damietta, Kafr El-Sheikh, and Minya, Matruh and North Sinai) which includes the development of 11 hospitals and the establishment of 19 new hospitals with a capacity of 5,405 beds. Completing construction work in the hospitals included in the plan, bringing the number of hospitals to 65 with a capacity of 10,517 beds, in addition to establishing 534 units and primary care centers at an estimated cost of 115 billion pounds, including medical and non-medical equipment.

During the tour, the Prime Minister listened to a detailed explanation from the Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development, Minister of Health and Population, about the job description of each of the hospitals that will be inspected, as well as the development stages and completion rate in new construction projects, and the completion dates for each project.

During his visit to Umm Al-Misreyeen General Hospital, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar explained to the Prime Minister that a new building for the hospital is being implemented through the Armed Forces Engineering Authority. In this context, the representative of the Authority explained the current executive position of the development work project and raising the efficiency of Umm Al-Misreyeen Hospital. It includes the construction of a new building with a capacity of 287 beds, as well as the construction of a building for outpatient clinics, a transformer room, a generator, and a drinking water and firefighting tank, in addition to raising the efficiency and developing 7 other buildings, pointing out that development work has begun in Last August, it is scheduled to take 24 months.

During the tour around the hospital, the Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development said: Joining the new building after completion of its implementation would raise the hospital’s capacity to 403 beds, including 306 beds in the internal department, 53 intensive care beds, and 10 pediatric intensive care beds. And 22 neonatal intensive care units, 12 nurseries, in addition to 23 dialysis units, 37 outpatient clinics, and 10 rooms. Operations, two caesarean delivery rooms, and 4 natural birth booths.

At the conclusion of the inspection tour of Umm Al-Masryeen Hospital, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of implementing development work for existing buildings in parallel with the implementation of new construction operations, in an effort to raise the quality of health and medical services provided to citizens, directing the Governor of Giza to the necessity of developing the network of facilities and roads surrounding and leading to the hospital, to keep pace with Existing development and expansion works.
