Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, reviewed the executive position of the presidential initiative projects, “Housing for All Egyptians,” in a meeting held today. In the presence of Ahmed Kjouk, Minister of Finance, Counselor Adnan Fanjari, Minister of Justice, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing and Real Estate Finance Support Fund, Engineer Kamal Bahjat, Executive Vice President of the Fund, and Mohamed Rajai, Assistant Vice President of the Urban Communities Authority for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Ahmed Fouad, Head of the Security, Justice and Public Services Budgets Sector at the Ministry of Finance, and Walid Abdullah, Head of the State General Budget Sector at the Ministry of Finance.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the utmost importance of the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians,” in light of its goals, which include providing housing units at reasonable prices for citizens, in various governorates, considering that this initiative is one of the most successful initiatives that the state has adopted during the past ten years, which It contributed significantly to achieving social protection.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly stressed the state’s intention to continue implementing this initiative, in a way that contributes to providing housing units for low-income people and youth, at reasonable prices, and with easy payment methods, stressing that there is a directive from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to continue to accelerate the pace of construction work with the initiative. In light of the importance of strengthening efforts to provide adequate housing for all citizens, which contributes to achieving societal stability.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister directed the necessity of periodically monitoring the status of the implementation of units, as well as the implementation of services, which would activate the goals of the initiative in implementing planned urban housing projects with integrated services.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly also directed the provision of the necessary funding to complete the implementation of the units of this initiative, assigning the competent authorities to quickly provide the amounts owed to the Fund. Whether in its share of building violations, or the proceeds from the sale of land or housing units, etc.
During the meeting, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny reviewed the position of implementing and allocating housing units within the framework of the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians,” noting that the implementation of 700,000 housing units has been completed, of which 616,000 units have already been allocated, and the implementation of 244,000 units is being completed. Housing units within the initiative, including 166 thousand units for the low-income segment, reviewing the implementation status of these units and the planned delivery timings. He also touched on the implementation status of another 28 thousand housing units being implemented to target the middle-income segment.
Mai Abdel Hamid, Head of the Social Housing and Real Estate Finance Support Fund, discussed the financing position of the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative projects and the revenues achieved, as well as reviewing a number of challenges and proposals to overcome them with the aim of accelerating the pace of completing the implementation of the units currently in operation, and providing them with the necessary necessary services.
