Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, chaired today; The weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers, where a number of important topics and work files were discussed and reviewed.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister referred to the important participation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, in the activities of the G20 Summit, which was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil recently, and the bilateral meetings that were held with leaders and presidents of a number of countries on the sidelines of the work. The summit discussed and reviewed a number of issues and files of common interest, in addition to reviewing what is related to supporting and strengthening aspects of bilateral cooperation between Egypt and those countries, pointing in this regard to the meeting that brought together President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi with Brazilian President Lula da Silva. A joint statement was signed after the meeting regarding raising relations between the two countries to the level of a strategic partnership, in a way that contributes to achieving the interests and aspirations of the two friendly peoples.
The Prime Minister noted that the participation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, in the G20 summit came in response to the invitation of Brazilian President Lula da Silva, and this is Egypt’s fourth participation in the group’s summits, pointing out that this reflects the weight of Egypt’s role at the international and regional levels.
The Prime Minister then moved on to talk about internal affairs, referring to the celebration that was held recently to announce the restart of Al-Nasr Automotive Company and the start of new production therein, after a hiatus that lasted more than 15 years. In this regard, he reiterated the state’s continued efforts to support and develop… The industrial sector, given its pivotal role in driving various development processes and its significant contribution to achieving more economic goals.
In this context, the Prime Minister pointed out the state’s interest in the automobile industry, and working to bring about a qualitative shift in this type of industry, in order to maximize the capabilities and capabilities that Egypt possesses, attract more investments to this promising sector, and encourage more participation with private sector institutions. Noting that the return of Al-Nasr Automotive Company to production, this will contribute to achieving the desired goals in this regard, in addition to supporting the efforts to localize many industries feeding the automobile industry, which enhances the proportion of the local component in many goods and products.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister indicated, during the meeting, his honor to witness, on behalf of His Excellency Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, the opening of the activities of the twenty-eighth edition of Cairo ICT’24, and what he did. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly also noted, during the meeting, his attendance on behalf of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, at the celebration of the fourth annual Nuclear Energy Day, reiterating in this regard the state’s interest in the file of nuclear energy and its peaceful uses, in a way that supports Egypt’s vision and strategy. With regard to the diversification of energy sources, and the implementation of the Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant project in this regard, in order to achieve more of the state’s sustainable development goals.
