The President of Menoufia University receives the two finalist students for the Gen Z program

Dr. Ahmed Al-Qassed, President of Menoufia University, met with the student Salma Muhammad Muhammad Al-Moaz, a student in the fourth year at the Faculty of Science, and the student Ahmed Abdel Aziz Abdel Basset, a student in the Faculty of Engineering, members of the Natur Magic team, after they reached the final of the Gen Z program qualifiers, the largest competition program among university students in the fields of entrepreneurship. Business, innovation and scientific research, produced by the United Media Services Company, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented by the Fund to Support Innovators and Geniuses.

The meeting was attended by the Vice President of the University, Dr. Sobhi Sharaf, for community service and environmental development, Dr. Nasser Abdel-Bari for education and students, Dr. Ghada Ali Hassan, coordinator of international relations and the ISF Sponsorship Office, Dr. Muhammad Lutfi Zaki, director of technical talents at the ISF Innovators and Geniuses Sponsorship Office, and Dr. Yasmine Abdel Aziz. Menoufia University students participate in the Gen Z program

Dr. Ahmed Al-Qassed expressed his great happiness with the university’s team reaching the finals for the Gen ZK program, which is a special entrepreneurship program for university students in which students from public, private and technology universities participate. In its first phase, 25,000 students from 62 universities and research centers participated in the competition, with a total of 2,114 teams. 222 teams were advanced from the qualifiers of universities and research centers at the regional level and competed to obtain support worth 100 million pounds, divided into 50 million pounds. Provided by the Innovators and Geniuses Support Fund, and 50 million from the Long Live Egypt Fund, and a large group of scientists, businessmen, and owners of major companies participate in the judging panel.

During the meeting, the university president stressed the importance of spreading the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among university students, and encouraging innovative students and entrepreneurs from all different scientific disciplines to create their startup companies, appreciating the efforts of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to support and nurture innovative youth to achieve the goals of sustainable development and Egypt’s vision. 2030, and extends his sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Innovators and Geniuses Fund for participating in organizing this important program to obtain training and guidance from entrepreneurs. And experienced investors, providing financing to the winning teams, and highlighting the efforts of these projects in the media to reach a network of investors and business owners to adopt these projects.

The University President also thanked and appreciated Dr. Hani Ayyad, Executive Director of the Fund for Innovators and Geniuses, Dr. Amal Nasr El-Din Suleiman, Director of Programs and Operations Management at the Fund, and Dr. Mustafa Amin Ibrahim, Director of Programs at the Fund and Director of the Gen Z Program, for the continuous support and fruitful guidance of the teams participating in the competition.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Qassed discussed with the students their innovative project idea, especially since the innovative product had obtained a patent certificate, praising the advanced level of the student team and their endeavor to establish a private company to market their product. This is the primary goal of organizing such competitions to discover students’ talents in various fields. Encouraging them to participate in the Startup Olympiad competition, which targets students and researchers at universities and research centers who have innovative ideas and seek to develop them into a real business model and create a startup company. Here comes the university’s role to support and sponsor students. Innovators, and this is what the ISF office at Menoufia University is doing, as it presented 26 student projects, and after stages of training, tests, qualification, guidance, and guidance to the universities that received financial support from the Fund for Welfare of Innovators and Geniuses, in the presence of high-level arbitration committees, this student project won to reach the final selection, and we are waiting for the result. Finally, winning financial support to start their future work and transform their ideas into products that contribute to meeting the needs of the local market, and also prepare them to compete. At the international level.
