The Egyptian pound continues to fall against the dollar in Egyptian banks and on the screen of the Central Bank of Egypt, as the price of the dollar in Egypt closed today at 50.17 pounds per dollar for purchase and 50.31 pounds per dollar for sale.
Dollar price
The price of the dollar in Abu Dhabi Bank is recorded at 50.21 for purchase and 50.3 for sale, which is the highest price among Egyptian banks today. In us, the Bank of Egypt and the National Bank of Egypt closed at 50.17 for buying and 50.27 for selling.
Gold prices
As for the gold level, the price of a gram of 24 karat gold was about 4,280 pounds, the price of a gram of 22 karat gold was about 3,923 pounds, the price of a gram of 21 karat gold was about 3,745 pounds, and the price of a gram of 18 karat gold was about 3,210 pounds.
Urgent statement from the National Bank of Egypt
The National Bank of Egypt confirmed that it will not issue new savings certificates with a return rate of 30% and that the existing certificate is the platinum certificate with an annual graduated return with a return rate of 30% for the first year, 25% for the second year, and 20% for the third year.
The bank calls for the necessity of verifying the accuracy of any information before circulating it.

In another context, the central bank was able to sell only 6.2% of its target for one-year dollar-denominated treasury bills and 18.0% for six-month treasury bills, after investors requested higher interest rates during the bank’s latest bid on Thursday. The yield on one-year Treasury bills decreased marginally by 0.001% to 26.240%, while the yield on six-month Treasury bills rose by 0.138% to 30.996%.
