The US dollar rose against the Egyptian pound during Thursday’s trading, recording 50.85 pounds to the dollar in some banks.
According to data available at the Central Bank of Egypt, the dollar continues to rise above 50 pounds since last Thursday.
The dollar ended last week’s trading at an average level of 50,048 pounds, which means a decline in the Egyptian currency by about 80 piasters.
It is worth noting that Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly mentioned last week that the exchange rate of the pound may witness an increase or decrease in the range of 5% during the coming period.
