Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, held a meeting this evening, Sunday, to follow up on the position of the urban estate modernization plan, which is being implemented by the Ministry’s General Authority for Urban Planning, in the presence of Ministry officials, the General Authority for Urban Planning, officials of the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and the Ministry of Urban Planning. The Minister of Housing directed the officials of the General Authority for Urban Planning to coordinate the urban estate modernization plan, and to work in accordance with the priorities of implementing drinking water and sanitation facilities projects within the Presidential Initiative for a Decent Life to develop the Egyptian countryside.
The Minister also directed the necessity of setting a specific time frame to complete the file of modernizing the urban estates of villages, as well as modernizing and developing the urban estates of estates, stressing the importance of confronting violations and encroachments on agricultural lands, and adhering to the boundaries of urban space.
