The Minister of Higher Education is discussing cooperation with a company to operate a 500 500 oncology hospital

Dr. Ayman Ashour held Minister of Higher Education and Scientific ResearchMajor General Dr. Bahaa El-Din Zidan, Chairman of the Unified Purchasing Authority, Engineer Vivek Kande, President of Siemens Healthineers for the Middle East and Africa, and Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadiq, President of Cairo University, held a meeting to discuss ways of joint cooperation in operating the new oncology hospital project in Sheikh Zayed (500 Hospital 500).

Providing integrated care according to international standards

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister stressed the interest of the Ministry of Higher Education in cooperating with Siemens Healthineers and benefiting from its international expertise in operating the 500500 Hospital project according to the latest international specifications, pointing to the importance of the project within the university hospital system and the major role of the National Cancer Institute in providing distinguished treatment services for oncology patients in Egypt and the Middle East.

The minister referred to his recent visit to Germany, which aimed to enhance joint scientific cooperation between Egypt and Germany in improving oncology services. The visit included an inspection of a number of leading German centers for diagnosing and treating tumors, and holding meetings with their leaders to enhance cooperation in early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and providing integrated care in accordance with international standards.

His visit to Siemens Healthineers also included meetings with a number of its leaders, praising the company’s pioneering level in the fields of health care, energy, transportation and industry, stressing the Ministry’s keenness to benefit from its expertise in improving medical service in university hospitals.

The Minister explained the importance of research and academic cooperation and the qualification of human resources in the project in cooperation with Cairo University.

For his part, Major General Doctor Bahaa El-Din Zidane valued the cooperation with the German side in the field of health care, praising the previous cooperation experiences with Siemens Healthineers. He also stressed the importance of cooperation in the field of training through establishing a training center for the company in Egypt.

Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadiq expressed Cairo University’s appreciation for this partnership with Siemens Healthineers, stressing the university’s full support for the project, which reflects its long history in providing oncology services to Egyptians and countries in the region.

He stressed the importance of the success of the 500500 project, which represents a major addition to the Cairo University Hospitals system.

During the meeting, the hospital’s current position and the latest developments related to its equipment were reviewed.
