Abdel Aty stresses the importance of reducing tensions and maintaining self-control
The Foreign Minister expressed to his Iranian counterpart Egypt’s concern about the continued escalation in the region, and reiterated the importance of reducing tensions and practicing restraint at this delicate stage, stressing the importance of reaching an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon, and in this context, he reviewed the contacts that Egypt is conducting with various regional and international actors to reduce Escalation, indicating Egypt’s keenness to continue providing all forms of political and humanitarian support to Lebanon and its brotherly people.
The call also addressed the crisis of the presidential vacancy in Lebanon, as the Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the need for all parties to support Lebanon at this critical stage in electing a president for the country through national consensus without external interference, noting the importance of empowering Lebanese institutions, especially the Lebanese army, and implementing Security Council Resolution No. 1701 in full.
