Statements of Ihab Al-Komi
Ihab Al-Komi said, in television statements: “We received an official letter from the Egyptian Public Prosecution requesting the official match tape of the leaked dialogue with referee Mohamed Adel. There is an investigation, and after completion, the final results will be issued.”
He continued: “I contacted referee Mohamed Adel, and I was determined to have him on the international list, as he is a very distinguished referee.”
He added: “Captain Muhammad Adel told me that there is a large part in the leaked recording that is incorrect.”
He continued: “The tape of the match reaches the referees’ committee and the video company, and the leak will naturally be through one of the two parties. The dismissal of the referees’ committee does not mean that it is guilty, but it is a major shock in arbitration at that time, so that procedure had to be done.”
On the other hand, Ihab Al-Koumi pointed out that Hazem Imam and Mohamed Barakat were not subjected to injustice with the current federation, and one or two former players must join the new council.
He continued: “Hazem Imam and Mohamed Barakat were not subjected to injustice with the Football Association Council.”
He added: “The federation’s board of directors must include one or two former football players.”
He pointed out: “Mohamed Barakat achieved fourth place in the Paris Olympics and is the general supervisor of the national team. He achieved great success with the current council, in addition to his selection of Mikali.”
He added: “Hazem Imam is a respected personality, and he was subjected to a major attack after losing in the African Nations. Hazem did not choose Vitoria alone, but rather the choice was made by the entire council.”
He continued: “The entire council approved the presence of Hossam Hassan as technical director of the Egyptian national team, and there was no objection to that, and Gamal Allam’s statements that the coach would be a foreigner came because of what happened with Captain Ihab Galal.”
He continued: “Negotiations took place with Hervé Renard at that time, and he said that he was linked and could be present after the Olympics, and there was no big foreign name, which brought us back to the Egyptian coach, and we did not find anyone better than Hossam Hassan.”
He concluded his statements by saying: “There was a popular consensus between the Football Association and the Egyptian fans regarding the presence of Hossam Hassan as technical director of the Egyptian national team.”
