The Egyptian Medicines Authority stressed the importance of consulting healthcare providers, including doctors and pharmacists, before using any medications to treat arthritis, stressing that accurate diagnosis and an appropriate treatment plan are the key to controlling the disease and alleviating its pain.
Warning against indiscriminate use of hyaluronic acid injections
The authority explained that the treatment of arthritis depends mainly on the use of analgesics to relieve pain, in addition to modifying lifestyle, by following a healthy diet that helps reduce weight, and exercising regularly. She added that in some cases, immunosuppressants are used to control rheumatoid inflammation.
The FDA indicated that the efficiency of synovial fluid in the joints may decrease due to a deficiency in its hyaluronic acid content, which in some cases prompts doctors to compensate for this deficiency by directly injecting the joint with preparations containing hyaluronic acid, stressing that this technique is often used in treating joints. Knee and thigh.
The authority called on citizens to be careful and not to use any medications or treatments without consulting a competent health care provider, in order to ensure their health and safety.
Earlier, Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, revealed the prevailing virus during the current period that causes most of the common cold cases among citizens, amid a state of controversy regarding some citizens’ link between these symptoms and the new mutant of the Coronavirus EXC.
