The euro rose to its highest level in 3 weeks

The euro rose to a three-week high and was last low at $1.0583.

The dollar index, which measures the US currency against six major currencies, settled at 105.75 after falling towards the lowest level in three weeks in the previous session.

The dollar also fell against the Swiss franc by 0.2% to 0.8762 francs.

After the payroll data was released, US interest rate futures put odds at 87% that the Federal Reserve would cut interest rates by 25 basis points at its policy meeting later this month, up from about 70% just before the data was released, according to calculations by Market Group. Meanwhile, the odds of economic activity stopping fell to 13% from 30% ahead of the jobs report.
