The Cabinet Media Center explained that what was circulated by some media outlets, attributed to high-level government officials, that Egypt asked the International Monetary Fund to increase the fourth tranche to $2 billion instead of $1.3 billion, is absolutely incorrect, and does not correspond to the truth and reality. In any connection, he explained that what was published in this context is just a new attempt to create confusion by spreading rumors and lies among citizens.
The Media Center called on all media outlets to ensure accuracy and verify any information from their competent sources before publishing it.
The Cabinet Media Center indicated that the Egyptian authorities are keen on transparency and making information available to citizens immediately, especially regarding the economic reform program supported by the International Monetary Fund.
