Program systems Bridges Arab-African Trade, which is an initiative aimed at enhancing trade and economic integration between Arab and African countries, the fourth session of the effectiveness of bilateral meetings in the food industries sector, at the Al-Manara International Conference Center in Egypt in conjunction with the Food Africa Exhibition, with the participation of 129 exporters and 36 suppliers from Arab and African countries on Over two days of fruitful business meetings.
The fourth event of the year in the food industries sector highlights the program’s commitment to empowering companies in this vital sector for the economies of the Arab and African regions, as the 2024 bilateral meetings focused on facilitating trade by enabling Arab and African companies to establish fruitful commercial partnerships, expand their markets, and strengthen value chains in Food industries sector. In addition to enhancing regional integration by contributing to achieving the program’s vision of economic cooperation and intra-regional trade and providing new opportunities for small and medium-sized companies to access global markets.
Over the course of two days, the Arab-African Trade Bridges Program organized 745 bilateral meetings between Arab and African companies that discussed potential transactions worth an estimated $34 million.
Commenting on this event, Engineer Hani Salem Sonbol, CEO of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation and Secretary-General of the Arab-African Trade Bridges Program, said: “The Arab-African Trade Bridges Program has been a pivotal tool in promoting trade and investment between Arab and African countries since 2017. The fourth session highlights The effectiveness of bilateral meetings in the food industry sector is based on our firm commitment to creating opportunities for companies and contributing to regional economic integration.”
Arab-African Trade Bridges Programme
Since its launch in 2017, the Arab-African Trade Bridges Program has played a pivotal role in developing trade between the two regions, by organizing annual events focused on creating trade opportunities in specific sectors, by connecting companies and enhancing cooperation. The program organized 6 bilateral meeting events in the pharmaceutical industry sector, which resulted in important partnerships and agreements in the fields of health and pharmaceutical industries, and 4 previous bilateral meeting events in the food industry sector, which focused on opportunities in the fields of agriculture and food production to enhance trade ties.
