Leaders of South Korea and the United States convene American Japan and Japan held tripartite talks today, Friday, on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Lima, the capital of Peru.

The presidential office in Seoul announced that South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol, US President Joe Biden, and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba are scheduled to meet on Friday in Lima.

These tripartite talks are scheduled to be the first since Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba took office in early October, and they will also be the last before the end of Joe Biden’s presidency of the United States of America next January.

The US President visits Peru and Brazil

On Thursday, US President Joe Biden began his six-day visit to Peru and Brazil, to attend the last two major international summits of his presidency, while world leaders turn their attention to what Donald Trump’s return to the White House means for their countries.

The visit to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Peru, a stop in the Amazon rainforest, and the G20 leaders’ summit in Brazil, provides Biden with one of his last opportunities as president to meet the heads of state with whom he has worked over the years.
