Major General Tariq Hamed Al-Shazly, Governor of Suez, announced that the level of preparedness and emergency among the executive agencies in the governorate had been raised since the early hours of Thursday morning, in conjunction with warnings from the General Meteorological Authority of the presence of dense fog on the highways.

A source told Cairo 24 that the Governor of Suez directed that the operations room be activated and ready since the early hours of this morning to deal with any reports, and coordinate with the National Emergency and Public Safety Network and Civil Protection to take the necessary decisions, including stopping traffic on the highways in the event of a Dense fog causes blurred vision.
The source explained that the Governor of Suez stressed on the Traffic Department the need to warn motorists on highways against exceeding the set speeds in order to preserve their safety, and to take legal measures against those who violate traffic instructions, in order to prevent any accidents from occurring.
The source also revealed that the Suez Medical Complex announced the readiness of doctors in emergency departments to deal immediately in the event of any accidents on the roads due to the dense fog that the General Meteorological Authority warned about.
The media center at the General Office of the Suez Governorate issued a warning to citizens to take all measures for their safety while driving on highways, including slowing down the speed to match the level of horizontal visibility, so that the viewing distance covers the distance necessary to stop, and turning on all of the car’s lights if there is fog on the road.
The media center called on motorists to increase the safe following distance between their cars and the cars in front of them, and to adhere to the traffic lane, while being guided by land lines and driving in the middle lane of the road as much as possible. He also recommended opening a small portion of a window to prevent water condensation on the glass, and using parking lights to be visible to others.
