Hussein Abdel Hamid Hussein and Hassan Magdy El Shorbagy – The United Bank – won second place in the research competition – the second edition, which was organized by the Arab Media Center in cooperation with the Egyptian Banking Institute on “Using Artificial Intelligence to Enhance Cybersecurity in Banks,” in which a large number of banks participated. This is on the sidelines of the People and Banks Conference – 18th Edition today.
The research discussed the role that artificial intelligence can play in improving and enhancing cybersecurity in the banking industry. The extent to which banks benefit from multiple artificial intelligence technologies in distance education and developing human capabilities using huge databases. As well as ways to address security vulnerabilities and confront them with specialized programs in information security, such as: phishing, fraud, ransomware, and internal threats. As well as combating cybercrime and the huge losses that may occur to companies and institutions. It also developed a set of solutions supported by artificial intelligence technologies to detect security threats and raise the skills and training of human personnel.
The study presented a set of recommendations for best practices for artificial intelligence techniques. As well as forecasting the development of artificial intelligence in deep learning and behavioral analysis in order to enhance cybersecurity in the field of banking services.
It is worth noting that Hussein Abdel Hamid Hussein holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computers and Information from Mansoura University, while Hassan Magdy El-Shorbagy is a graduate of Business Administration from the Arab Academy for Science and Technology. In addition to a series of specialized training courses and certificates in the field of cybersecurity at a number of educational centers and local and international universities.
Commenting on this event, Ashraf El-Kady – CEO and Managing Director of The United Bank – expressed his happiness at the victory of Hussein Abdel Hamid Hussein and Hassan Magdy El-Shorbagy and their second place in the “Using Artificial Intelligence to Enhance Cybersecurity in Banks” competition.
The judge thanked the organizers of the competition, namely: the Arab Media Center, the Egyptian Banking Institute, and the participating banks for their tireless efforts in preparing and organizing this competition in a distinguished way.
Al-Qadi added that strengthening and developing the skills of the United Bank’s work team, whether banking or technical, including: enhancing cybersecurity, critical thinking, and cognitive and creative development, is considered one of the strategic priorities. The investment was in the training plan, which includes a series of educational and rehabilitation programs, most notably: the High Fliers Program – and foreign missions – and professional practical training with a large number of Egyptian and foreign educational institutions such as the Egyptian Banking Institute and the Frankfurt Center for Finance and Management. This enhances the institutional vision and organizational work to improve innovative and creative behavior and develop the knowledge and skills of the participants.
