According to Reuters, car production at the site, which was suspended from mid-September until November 1 due to weak demand, resumed this week, but is scheduled to stop again for the entire month of December.

Earlier, the Italian daily newspaper MF said that the Fiat 500 assembly line has reopened with a decrease in production by 170 vehicles per day, and will be closed again throughout the next month, with its reopening after January 7, 2025.

Mirafiori, based northwest of Turin, the birthplace of the Fiat brand, is largely a huge industrial complex.

MF said Stellantis had concentrated three months’ worth of Fiat 500 orders into November production, and wanted to get some production up as well in December, but failed to do so due to supply problems that led to component shortages.
