They were received by Dr. Ahmed Saber Awaja, Director of the Hospital, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Fayoumi, and Dr. Romani, Deputy Directors.
This visit comes under the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, Major General Dr. Abdel Fattah Siraj, Governor of Sohag, and Dr. Peter Wagih, Head of the Therapeutic Medicine Sector at the Ministry of Health. In preparation for equipping and operating the open-heart surgery department, in a step that is the first of its kind in the governorate.
Dowidar said that it is time for the citizen to reap the fruits of the development and great efforts made by the state towards the health sector in the governorate.
Sohag health agent inspects the cardiac catheterization department at Tahta General Hospital
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health inspected the cardiac catheterization department at the hospital, praising the efforts of the medical staff, the regularity of work, and the health service provided at the hospital. During the visit, a small meeting was held to review the final procedures and requirements for operating the open-heart surgery department at the hospital. It became the first public hospital in the governorate to perform open-heart surgeries.
In a related context, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health also held another meeting that included the financial and administrative director, the hospital’s Ministry of Finance official, and the hospital administration, during which everything related to financial affairs, disbursement obstacles, and others was discussed.
Dowidar directed that a joint committee of financial and administrative affairs and medical supply in the Health Directorate be assigned for a period of a week or more to conduct hospital inspections, train workers, and raise their level of administrative awareness.
