The draw for the group stage of the Club World Cup resulted in Al-Ahly being placed in the first group, alongside the Brazilian Palmeiras, the Portuguese Porto, and the American Inter Miami, which plays among its ranks the Argentine legend Lionel Messi.
Sayed Abdel Hafeez, former director of football at Al-Ahly club, said in television statements: Al-Ahly needs to sign Mohamed Ali bin Ramadan before the Club World Cup and semi-Baghdad striker Bou Najah.
He added: Al-Ahly is supposed to contract with distinguished players for the Club World Cup, because if you are able to qualify for advanced roles, there will be great gains and investment in Al-Ahly’s name and great benefits will be achieved.
In a related context, Al-Ahly faces its South African counterpart, Orlando Pirates, today, in the second round of the group stage of the African Champions League.
The Al-Ahly and Orlando Pirates match will start at three o’clock in the afternoon today, Saturday, Cairo time.
Al-Ahly’s expected lineup against Orlando is as follows:
