A report issued by the Central Bank revealed that reserve money (MO) rose to 1.905 trillion pounds at the end of October, compared to 1.897 trillion pounds at the end of last September.
The report added that cash in circulation outside the Central Bank’s treasury recorded 1.255 trillion pounds at the end of October, compared to 1.260 trillion pounds at the end of September 2024.
He explained that bank deposits in local currency recorded 649.9 billion pounds at the end of October, compared to 637.119 billion pounds at the end of September.
The net foreign assets of the Central Bank achieved a surplus for the sixth month in a row, amounting to $10.6 billion at the end of October 2024, equivalent to 520.121 billion pounds, compared to $10.4 billion at the end of September, equivalent to 505.074 billion pounds.
The central bank’s net foreign assets are one of the most important measures of banking stability and solidity, as it shows the difference between the central bank’s assets and its liabilities in foreign currencies.
