The House of Representatives, headed by Counselor Dr. Hanafi Jabali, approved, during today’s plenary session, in principle, a draft law submitted by the government issuing the Social Security Law.
Representatives approve in principle the draft law on social security and cash support
The draft law comes to grant the groups targeted for support many benefits in implementation of the constitutional obligation, unify the cash support programs granted by the state into a single program system that achieves unification of the financial base, and organize grants with the aim of maximizing the benefit from the support, in order to achieve the economic empowerment of the groups targeted by it and guarantee them a decent life.
The draft law specifies the categories eligible for conditional cash support (takaful), conditional health and education, and procedures in the event that the family does not adhere to the conditional condition.
At the beginning of the plenary session of the Council, today, Sunday, Counselor Dr. Hanafi Jabali, Speaker of the House of Representatives, referred two Republican decisions on two international agreements to the Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Committee, and 5 draft laws submitted by a tenth of the Council’s members, to the specific committees of the Council to study them and prepare reports on them, as well as letters. From the advisor to the President of the Senate regarding the Senate’s opinion on approving 3 draft laws submitted by the government.
