Text of next Friday’s sermon

“Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the light of the heavens and the earth, and the guide of the heavens and the earth. He established the universe with the greatness of His manifestation, and sent down guidance to His prophets and messengers. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, a single and steadfast god, and I bear witness that our master Muhammad is His servant. And His Messenger, God Almighty sent him as a mercy to the worlds, and as a conclusion to the prophets and messengers. May God bless and bless him, his family and companions, and those who follow them in goodness until the Day of Judgment, and after:-

The one who meditates on the noble prophetic statement will find a strong threat and a sharp intimidation against transgressing public funds in any form, as our Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, says: “Indeed, there are men who engage in the wealth of God without right, and for them will be Hell on the Day of Resurrection.” Have you seen, O people, the sanctity of money? The year and its greatness?! Did you see what the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, called him? Public money is God Almighty’s money.

O aggressor of public money, wake up! You are not only attacking the money of the country and the citizens, you are attacking the money of God Almighty! Did you know the horror, severity, and greatness of the matter?! Public money is sacred money. Violating public money is unjust and unfair to money that has been attributed to God Almighty as a percentage of maintenance, protection and preservation! O aggressor of public money, consider the punishment of those who assault God’s money by wasting it, mishandling it, and taking from it unlawfully. The punishment is a hot fire. The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, says: “For them will be the Fire on the Day of Resurrection.” And he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, says: “Any flesh that grows from It is forbidden, so fire is better for it.”

Here a question moves in all of our minds: What is public money? We answer and say: There are two types of money: private money and public money. As for private money, it is your personal property, such as your house, your clothes, your book, your office, and your personal items and belongings, and these have great sanctity. Protection from the Sharia for you and your rights, as God Almighty said: {And do not consume your wealth among yourselves unjustly}, and he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “The wealth of a Muslim is not permissible except with his own consent,” and he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Every Muslim is forbidden to another Muslim: “His blood, his money, and his honor.” This is private money.

As for public money, it is what you do not own alone, does not belong to you alone, and its benefit is not limited to you alone. Rather, it is owned by all people, and all people benefit from it, such as public transportation, streets, electricity, water, schools, hospitals, and various public facilities, so perhaps he is lenient with it. Some people, because it is not their private property, dare to attack him and make things easy for him, but this matter is great! If God Almighty glorifies your private property and forbids people from transgressing against it, is it permissible for you to transgress against all people’s property?! Is your private property more sacred than what is owned by all people and benefited by all people, and you are one of them?!

One of the greatest neglects of God and of God’s sanctities is that your balance becomes imbalanced, and things become reversed and confusing for you, thus magnifying the sanctity of your money and your own property, and deeming permissible what all people own and benefit from. Public money is more inviolable and more strongly protected by God and by His Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace. The sanctity of private money. With the severity of his veneration of the sanctity of private money, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, says: “Do you know what a bankrupt person is? They said: The bankrupt among us is the one who has no dirham or property. He said: The bankrupt from my nation will come on the Day of Resurrection with prayer, fasting, and zakat, and he will come having insulted this, slandered this, consumed this’s money, shed this’s blood, and beaten this, and this will be given from his good deeds and this from his good deeds. If his good deeds are exhausted before he fulfills what he owes, then he will take some of their sins and cast them on him, then he will be thrown into the Fire.” If this threat applies to someone who ate the money of one individual, “and ate the money of this man,” then how about the one who ate the money of a people and wasted the capabilities of a nation?!

The Prophet’s scale regarding trespassing on private property glorifies a small branch cut from a tree. So what happens if the trespassed property is generally related to many debts and multiple rights?! The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, says: “Whoever takes away a Muslim’s right with his oath, God has made Hell obligatory for him and forbidden Paradise for him. A man said to him: Even if it is a small thing, O Messenger of God? He said: And I see you as a dick.

Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and may blessings and peace be upon the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers, our Master Muhammad (may God bless him and grant him peace), and upon all his family and companions, and after:
O honorable people! Bear your responsibilities towards your country and your society. Preserve the resources, capabilities and economy of your country, and know that the crimes of embezzlement, bribery, profiteering, exploiting one’s position to serve personal interests, and other forms of encroachment on public money are deception, betrayal and a clear sin. God Almighty said: {And whoever deceives brings what he deceives. On the Day of Resurrection}, and consider this wonderful picture of the proper handling of public money, when Abu Bakr bin Amr bin Hazm (the Emir of Medina) asked the Commander of the Faithful Omar bin Abdul Aziz, may God have mercy on him, to provide him with more papers that he would use in fulfilling the interests of the Muslims, and he directed him. To a great law of rationalization and management, when he wrote to him: “Sharpen your pen, close your lines, and gather your needs; I hate to take from the Muslims’ money what they do not benefit from.”

O you who seek blessing for your wealth, your family, and your children, eat nothing but good things, and feed them nothing but good things, O you who want the Giver, Glory be to Him, to answer your prayers and fulfill your hopes, protect people’s money, facilities, and public property; Until you clear your debts, make good your earnings, please your Lord, and are sincere for your homeland and nation, and let your guide be the saying of the Lord Almighty: {O people, eat of what is on the earth lawful and good, and do not follow in the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is your clear enemy}, and your guide is the saying of the Chosen One, may the prayers and peace of my Lord be upon him: « Treat your restaurant; Be responsive to the call.
