The Ministry of Health and Population stressed the importance of diabetes patients following a set of health guidelines to ensure a healthy and safe coexistence with the disease, within the framework of the “100 Million Health” initiative.

The Ministry explained in its statement that constant communication with relatives and the specialist doctor is necessary, especially if the patient lives alone.

The Ministry stressed the need to be exposed to sunlight daily for a period ranging from 15 to 30 minutes to obtain vitamin D, in addition to eating healthy food based on non-starchy vegetables, fruits, and proteins, and staying away from sugars and starches.

She also advised practicing walking indoors or moving the joints constantly, washing hands regularly using soap and water or disinfecting them with alcohol, in addition to maintaining sufficient amounts of diabetes medication and insulin.

The Ministry indicated the importance of avoiding touching the face, nose, or eyes with unclean hands, wearing a mask in crowded places, and cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and bags after purchasing food.

The Ministry concluded its advice by emphasizing the necessity of getting enough sleep to maintain a healthy body.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health and Population completed the implementation of the third phase of the field traffic campaign on medical facilities in all governorates, in implementation of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, to communicate directly with citizens, raise the efficiency of medical facilities, and monitor any shortcomings in medical facilities. Service level, and taking corrective action on the job.
