It will change the shape of the economy. Look at what Egypt and Saudi Arabia are doing with energy projects

Egypt is currently involved in strong projects with many Arab countries, especially the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, the first of which is Saudi Arabia, with whom Egypt is currently implementing a very important project that will completely change the face of the Arab region and will be the gateway to goodness for the two countries. I wonder what this project is.. and how Egypt will benefit from it.

During the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Egypt renewed and built many relations with most countries in the world, especially the Arab and African countries, which our relationship with over the past periods before President El-Sisi came to power witnessed divergence in ideas and political coordination, and this left Egypt in isolation far from its regional and pioneering role in Leadership of the Arab region and the East region as it was in all the years before.

Egypt has begun to reshape relations with its neighboring Arab and African countries and various countries of the world, through projects, economic cooperation, and political integration at all levels, and one of the countries with which Egypt is rebuilding its relations is Saudi Arabia, and Egypt has agreed on very large economic projects that will create comprehensive and continuous development. Between the two countries, one of the projects that were agreed upon, and a large phase of which they also implemented, is the Egyptian-Saudi electrical interconnection project, which will connect the two largest electrical networks in the Arab region with each other. The goal of this project is to exploit electrical energy during peak times.

The Egyptian-Saudi electrical interconnection project will have a capacity of 3000 megawatts, and will consist of 3 large and unique stations. The first of them will be in the city of Badr then here in Egypt, the second will be in the city of Tabuk in Saudi Arabia, and the third will be east of Medina in Saudi Arabia as well, and it will connect the transformer stations with overhead transmission lines. Its length will reach 1,350 meters, and the submarine cables in the Gulf of Aqaba will be 22 kilometers long.
The Egyptian-Saudi project will begin actual operation in May 2025 as one of the most important axes that the Egyptian state is working on to ensure the stability of the network and avoid resorting to reducing loads. More than 70% of the project’s work has been completed, and the companies responsible for the project have also completed horizontal directional drilling. For the pipes in which the cables will be placed, which will flow through the waters of the Red Sea in the coral reef area, and this is with the aim of preserving the coral reefs from breaking.
Not that, but no, Egypt and Saudi Arabia have finished manufacturing more than 70% of the project’s equipment, and the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company has begun installing a large portion of the equipment for the electricity transmission towers.
