Ministry announced health And the population, issuing 3 million and 226 thousand and 470 treatment decisions at state expense, at a total cost of 19 billion and 289 million and 905 thousand pounds, during the period from the first of last January until the end of October 2024; This comes in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to lift the burden on citizens, especially those who are unable.
Issuing more than 3 million treatment decisions at state expense within 10 months
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the number of beneficiaries of treatment decisions issued at state expense reached 2 million 120 thousand and 470 citizens, noting that the treatment decisions issued included specialties: blood diseases, oncology, surgery, gynecology, and internal medicine. Nose, ear, tract, and bones, in addition to skin and neurological diseases.
Abdel Ghaffar said that the number of people who were interviewed via video conference technology was 5672, in implementation of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, to facilitate the procedures for patients to obtain medical and therapeutic services at the state’s expense without the need to come to the headquarters of the specialized medical councils and without bearing any burden. Patient no discomfort.
For his part, Dr. Peter Wajih, Director of the Therapeutic Medicine Sector, indicated that the procedures for issuing treatment decisions at state expense begin by going to the nearest hospital and conducting medical examinations to diagnose the condition in preparation for writing the tripartite committee’s report. After that, the hospital registers by registering the patient’s data on the electronic network of the specialized medical councils. With the inclusion of a photo of the ID card, the report of the tripartite committee, reports, and recent medical examinations, without the patient having to bear any difficulty, the approval for the treatment request at the state’s expense comes electronically from the main center of the specialized medical councils, so that the decision is issued. The patient is notified with a short message on his mobile phone. To obtain treatment at state expense, the patient must not be a beneficiary of the health insurance system.
For his part, Dr. Muhammad Zidan, Director of the General Administration of Therapeutic Medicine and Director of the Specialized Medical Councils Administration, stated that within the framework of governance and improvement of the integrated services card system, medical examinations were conducted for 325,521 citizens, during the period from the first of January until the end of last October 2024. This aims to quickly identify cases of persons with disabilities within the medical examination procedures for issuing the integrated services card.
Zidane added that a medical examination was conducted on 135,607 citizens requesting cars equipped for people with special needs and exempt from taxes and customs duties, in addition to a debate and medical examination was signed on 239,893 citizens requesting cash support, Solidarity and Dignity.
