Investigation of a Venezuelan who tried to smuggle a quantity of narcotic drugs and a knife at Hurghada International Airport

On Wednesday morning, the competent authorities began investigating a Venezuelan tourist after he was caught in possession of a quantity of narcotic drugs and a knife at Hurghada International Airport.

Details of the incident

The details of the incident date back to when customs officers at Hurghada Airport were able to seize a quantity of an attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotic drugs and a knife in violation of the law.

During the completion of procedures inspection Passengers arriving from Germany: A Venezuelan passenger coming from Germany was suspected as he was leaving the customs gate and passing his luggage through an X-ray machine. It was found that there were a number of narcotic ecstasy tablets, a bottle of narcotic cannabis oil, a knife, and a personal deterrent package hidden in a professional manner inside his luggage.

Legal measures were taken and customs seizure report No. 62 of 2024 was issued after presenting it to Omar Khalifa, Head of the Central Administration for Customs of the Red Sea and the Southern Region, in cooperation with the Head of the Central Administration for Compliance Technology, Dr. Saad Salem.

This comes in implementation of the instructions of Al-Shahat Ghatouri, Head of the Customs Authority, to tighten control over customs ports and airports and to thwart all customs evasion attempts.
