The Egyptian Museum in Tahrir received a visit from a group of imams from the Egyptian Ministry of Endowments who were trained in the (Thought Leaders) program at the headquarters of the International Endowments Academy for Training Imams and Female Preachers and preparing trainers in 6th of October City. They were received by the museum’s curators of antiquities, who welcomed them and gave them a detailed explanation of the history of the museum. The unique and distinguished treasures and artifacts it contains, as well as its development project.
This confirms the role of Egyptian museums in preserving national and cultural identity, and their constant endeavor to link identity and civilizational expansion through the diverse civilizational and cultural heritage they contain.
Old state halls
The delegation was taken on a guided tour inside the museum’s various halls, which included the Old Kingdom halls, where the statue of King Djoser from the Third Dynasty is the oldest human statue in life size, the statue of King Khufu, the builder of the Great Pyramid, the statue of Khafre and the trinity of Menkaure, and the famous statue of King Mentuhotep II from the Middle Kingdom era, in addition to… Visit the hall of the treasures of Yuya and Toya, the ancestors of King Akhenaten, the hall of the golden king Tutankhamun, the halls of the treasures of Tanis and Psusennes, and the place where the head of the statue of Queen Hatshepsut from the New Kingdom is displayed. Next to the exhibition halls of antiquities from the Greco-Roman era.
At the end of the visit, the visitors were keen to express their admiration for the ancient Egyptian civilization and the museum’s distinguished archaeological collections. They also took souvenir photos inside the museum to commemorate this visit.
