This is in response to the ruling of the Supreme Constitutional Court, which requires the House of Representatives to work seriously to develop legislative solutions that achieve the required balance before the end of the current legislative term.

The head of the Tenants Union, Sherif Al-Jaar, said that determining the rent of apartments under the old rental system must be subject to certain considerations through which the owner can estimate that he is raising the rental value in a reasonable manner, especially since the Supreme Constitutional ruling stipulated the necessity of raising the rental value by more than 7% of the value of the property at the time. Al-Jaar said that the estimate of the rent in residential apartments under the old rental system will not exceed 5 times, but rather 15% annually, as happens with ordinary people, especially since increasing the rent more than 5 times will create a state of social inequality in society.

The Housing Committee of the House of Representatives said that the proposed amendments to the old rent law will be based on linking the rental value to real estate tax estimates, and the state will make accurate assessments for each house through which it will have a fair rent, and this rent will increase automatically based on the nature of the property and its location, and will take into account the disparity.
