Artist revealed Jamal Suleimanexpressed his intention to run for the presidency of Syria, after the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, stressing that power can go to any Syrian citizen and is not limited to anyone.

Jamal Suleiman said, in his interview with the ET Arabic program: I said 4 years ago that I could run for the presidency of Syria, and I was speaking seriously at the time, and I always believed that we would be lost after Bashar al-Assad, but power could shift to any respectable Syrian civilian, and he might be a doctor. Or an artist or political and civil society activity.

Jamal Suleiman continued: This is an early conversation, and the important thing is that we save Syria and have a neutral environment and a new constitution on the basis of which elections will take place. We may find someone smarter than me and more suitable than me and I will remain in his election campaign, and the people around me may say why not you. This is a topic that has no frame.

Jamal Suleiman added: I do not want the focus to be on the issue of whether I can run for the presidency of Syria, so that they do not understand that I am speaking as a candidate or that I am gathering votes. I never think about that. Today I am speaking as a Syrian citizen, and I will return to continuing my artistic life, and I hope that I will return. Don’t be late to Syria, but returning to Syria for me must have a certain meaning, just as I left it for a certain meaning.

Jamal Suleiman: Bashar al-Assad did not keep his promise in Syria

The artist, Jamal Suleiman, spoke about the Syrian conditions under the rule of Bashar al-Assad, during a previous symposium he held in Cairo 24, about the conditions of Syria under the rule of Hafez and Bashar al-Assad, and he said: Bashar al-Assad has a plan for political reform and it is good to have this after the death of Hafez al-Assad, who He had no alternative. The Syrians had no problem with Bashar ruling for 10 or 20 years. The important thing was to make political reform. This was a promise that was not implemented, and the Americans entered Baghdad. And we are the same.
