She adds: When Hesham Nazih offered me his participation in a concert of his musical compositions at the El Gouna Film Festival, I did not hesitate for a moment, for the first reason that he has a great stature as a composer who has influenced my artistic journey in recent years, in addition to my presenting “The Song of Isis” at a concert in the name of Hisham Nazih. It carries behind it very great symbolism and significance, as if it is an echo of the ceremony of the procession of the dead three years later.
On the other hand, the soprano expressed her happiness at being present at a major cinematic event such as the El Gouna Film Festival, which she attended for the first time, due to the relationship between cinema and soundtrack music, which reveals the extent of the latter’s influence on viewers’ connection to cinematic works, in addition to her happiness at repeating her cooperation with the artist Nessma. Mahjoub, with whom she previously participated in the Parade of the Dead concert, as well as the team of musicians who participated in this event, led by Maestro Ahmed Farag, with whom she cooperated for the first time.
She added: The truth is that what distinguished Hisham Nazih’s concert the most, and what motivated me the most to participate in it, is that he presented his musical works in a unique form, as if they were all one big work that included all of his compositions, which is a different and distinctive idea.
The latest work of international soprano Amira Selim, the song “We Love the Egyptian,” which is her first experience singing in the Egyptian colloquial dialect, through which she paid tribute to Egyptian women, and demonstrated her special ability to present different musical colors that approach the moods of other audiences, far from opera and classical music audiences.
