According to a report published by the British newspaper Daily Mail, an iron machine resembling a hydraulic lifting machine was found, which was used to crush and execute prisoners in the notorious Saydnaya prison of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, in new video clips that spread during the liberation of the prisoners.

Sources said that the device that was discovered inside Saydnaya Prison was a hydraulic iron press used to execute or torture prisoners, along with stories and anecdotes about torturing and starving prisoners.

The notorious prison, located near the capital, Damascus, nicknamed the Human Slaughterhouse, is an expression of the heinous torture, executions, and human rights violations committed by the Assad regime, which was overthrown by Syrian opposition forces.

In a related context, Amnesty International said that dozens of people were secretly executed every week in Saydnaya, and it estimates that up to 13,000 Syrians were killed between 2011 and 2016.

Reports stated that there are still thousands of detainees in closed cells several floors below the main prison building, noting that they are closed with special mechanisms using electronic keyboards, and it is said that they can only be accessed through a maze of tunnels.

In another context, the General Political Administration of the Syrian factions assigned Muhammad al-Bashir to form a new Syrian government to manage the transitional phase, following the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime and his departure from Syrian territory yesterday, Sunday, heading to Russia.

Syrian media explained that a tripartite meeting was held between the leader of the Syrian factions and the head of the Syrian government during the rule of Bashar al-Assad, Muhammad Ghazi al-Jalali, to discuss mechanisms for transferring power between the two governments.

Who is Muhammad Al-Bashir?

Muhammad al-Bashir served as head of the Salvation Government in Idlib before the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, and he also served as Minister of Local Development in the same government until 2022.
