Red Sea Governorate agencies have raised their level of preparedness to confront the rainy season, which reaches the point of torrential rain on the mountainous areas and roads of the governorate during the winter season.

How did the Red Sea Governorate prepare for the rainy and flood season?

Preparations included the formation of committees to inspect flood outlets and culverts and determine the readiness of artificial lakes and guidance barriers, as well as comprehensive preparation of the infrastructure for protection from the dangers of floods.

Red Sea Operations announced that there are multiple teams from the concerned authorities, and the executive agencies are fully prepared to intervene quickly in the event of floods.

Major General Amr Hanafi, Governor of the Red Sea, announced the division of the governorate into 6 sectors covering all the roads linking the different cities and regions. Each sector includes technical teams and equipment equipped with specific concentration areas, ready to move when an air warning is received of expected floods.
