The details of the case date back to when the security services in the Gharbia Security Directorate received a notification from Kafr El-Zayat General Hospital stating that it had received a girl in her twenties with scattered burns throughout her body after her husband’s brother assaulted her and threw flammable material on her body due to family disputes between them.

When the security services moved to Gharbia and conducted preliminary investigations, it was found that the victim was a second-year student at the College of Islamic Studies, married to the accused’s older brother, and residing in the village of Mahallat al-Laban in the Basyoun District District. A verbal altercation broke out between the victim and the accused’s mother, and as a result, the latter summoned her son, who assaulted the victim and poured water on her. It spread on her body, resulting in scattered burns throughout her body.

The accused was arrested and taken to the police station. When confronted, he confessed to committing the incident. The accused was imprisoned several times, and the case was referred to the Criminal Court, which issued its previous decision.
