Greek Energean reviews its plans to invest in sustainable development in Egypt

The meeting witnessed a review of the Egyptian-Greek efforts between the Ministries of Petroleum and Energy in the two countries to achieve sustainable development in the Eastern Mediterranean region through cooperation, innovation, and adopting modern technology used in the field of carbon capture and storage (CCS), in which Energean will participate within the framework of this cooperation as an executive aspect. In this regard, the meeting discussed Steps for the ongoing work between the work teams in the two countries to prepare for the signing of a joint cooperation agreement during the first quarter of the new year in the field of sustainable development and the application of carbon capture and storage technology.

During the meeting, the Greek company reviewed the developments in the process of transferring its investment assets for gas exploration and production in Egypt in the Mediterranean to Carlyle International Investment Company, stressing its aspiration to open new opportunities for cooperation and partnership with the Egyptian oil and gas sector, and the continuation of consultations in this field.

Participating in the meeting were Eng. Yassin Mohamed, Executive Managing Director of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), geologist Alaa Al-Batal, First Undersecretary and Supervisor of Energy Efficiency and Climate, and Engineer Moataz Atef, Undersecretary for the Technical Office, the Minister’s Office, and the Ministry’s official spokesman.

Energen agrees to sell its assets in the oil sector in Egypt to Carlyle

It was announced company Energen Oil and Gas Company agreed to sell its oil and gas assets in Egypt, Italy and Croatia to the Carlyle Group for up to $945 million.
