A resignation post is trending
Social media users circulated a picture of the resignation of a young man named Muhammad Naji Al-Araibi, from Libya, who submitted a request to resign from his job, the content of which was contrary to what was known.
The Libyan young man Muhammad limited himself to the content of his resignation with a verse from Surat Al-Baqarah: “God does not burden a soul beyond what is sufficient for it. It is for it what it has earned, and it is upon it what it has earned. Our Lord, do not hold us accountable if we forget or make a mistake.” Our Lord, and do not place upon us a burden that You placed upon those before us. Our Lord, and do not burden us with that which we cannot bear. We have it, and pardon us and forgive us and have mercy on us, You are our Master, so help us against the disbelieving people.”
The circulating post sparked widespread controversy on the part of social media users, as an account owner commented: “The noble verses are a person’s apology to his Creator, Glory be to Him, for his shortcomings in worship, his forgetfulness, and his lack of resourcefulness, and they are not in their place and cannot be compared with an employee’s apology for his shortcomings in his work and profession to his employer or manager.”
While another said: “Administratively and legally, this request is incorrect because there is no name of the entity it is directed to. This is a request for help, not a resignation.”
Another account owner added: “A resignation came after toil and exhaustion for reasons that only God knows, and the resignation can only be written by hand, otherwise it is not considered/ It is not permissible to use the Holy Qur’an in such a procedure, but you can write a reasoned resignation.”
