A draft law regulating the activity of third- and fourth-level biosecurity and security facilities within the Arab Republic of Egypt stipulates that the National Center for Biosecurity and Security be established.

The draft law approved by the government aims to establish the center as a public service body, reporting to the Prime Minister, while specifying the center’s objectives, the most important of which are to predict, address and confront all risks, threats and biological incidents in all their forms, and to protect humans, animals, plants, property and the environment from any biological or biological danger.
Under the draft law, the powers granted to the center are determined, to enable it to carry out its role, the most important of which is establishing frameworks and rules for regulating all research activities and safe practices and their applications in the field of biosecurity and security, and following up on global updates in the field of practicing biological activities and absorbing new future requirements, in accordance with security requirements.
