The head of the General Authority for Export and Import Control, Essam Al-Najjar, confirmed that Egypt’s non-oil exports rose to $33.35 billion in the first ten months of 2024, an increase of 12.2% compared to the same period last year.
In 2023, Egypt’s non-oil exports registered modest growth, reaching $35.6 billion.
However, the government is seeking to implement an ambitious strategy to boost export revenues to $145 billion by 2030 as part of a previously announced strategy to boost the country’s export support programme.
To support this goal, the government allocated 23 billion Egyptian pounds.
The funding gives priority to key sectors, including textiles, chemicals, fertilisers, agricultural products, food processing, engineering, automobiles and building materials.
