Egypt is making a strong comeback… How does the state plan to revive the national industry?

Do you remember back in the day when our slogan was “Made in Egypt”? When all Egyptian homes used to find their products of the highest quality and by Egyptian hands? Ok, what happened? Why did this slogan decline after a period of time? Can he come back again? Are there really real plans to revive Egyptian industries again?

Egyptian industry is back in the picture again… and after years of challenges and difficulties, the government is developing strong plans and strategies to revive local industries, provide new job opportunities for young people, and achieve self-sufficiency for many products that have always been important for any Egyptian home. Ok, how?

First, let us take a look at a topic that no one can ignore: the return of Al-Nasr Automotive Company… The company that was a symbol of the Egyptian industry has returned after a long absence with clear plans to manufacture electric cars… Imagine that we see “Al-Nasr” cars driving in our streets again! A huge project, through which Egypt is trying to be part of the global revolution in the sustainable automobile industry, and reduce dependence on traditional fuels, which remain a major economic and environmental burden. This project aims to contribute to reducing the import of cars from abroad, and build new local capabilities in technology and industry.

But I wonder if this is just a step? Is there anything else coming?

The answer is, “Oh, there are many other things…and one of the most important steps that the state is working on is reviving the textile industry. This industry is historic in Egypt, and it may also have been one of the first industries with which Egypt dazzled the world. Today the government is investing billions of pounds to develop factories.” The idea is not just to produce textiles, but to achieve world-class quality that competes in global markets and opens up opportunities for export again

The issue is not only about restarting old industries, but also about establishing modern industrial cities such as the “Rubiki” city, which is dedicated to the leather industry, and the “Damietta Furniture City,” which is considered a center for the Egyptian furniture industry. These cities are designed in a modern style, combining technology and infrastructure. Advanced, makes it easier for factories to produce more efficiently, and encourages local and international investors to enter the Egyptian market

These projects do a very important thing, which is creating job opportunities for young people. Imagine, every factory that is built or developed opens new doors for thousands of workers, engineers, and technicians. This contributes to improving income for families and raising the standard of living

Can someone ask: “Are these projects enough for Egypt to achieve the industrial renaissance it dreams of?”

The truth is that the government is also working on improving the legislative and investment environment, and facilitating procedures for businessmen and investors, and this makes Egypt more attractive to investments than ever before.

Let us be a little realistic.. The industrial renaissance will not happen overnight. The issue requires patience, planning and cooperation from all sides, and it certainly also needs people’s support and trust in the local product, because without this, factories, no matter how much they work, will never be able to compete with imported products.

The conclusion that we are currently seeing in Egypt is a new beginning… the beginning of reviving the Egyptian industrial heritage in a modern and advanced way that suits the current era. One day we may stand up and say with pride that the slogan “Made in Egypt” has come back strong again, and we remain certain that the Egyptian product is able to compete with high quality in the local and international market.
