Within the first phase of revolutionizing container handling using the latest technologies and environmental efficiency, according to maritime transport experts, these advanced machines are considered among the latest and most advanced machines in the world, and they are designed to enhance the efficiency of container handling.

Today, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, after participating in the ceremony of operating and launching the first flight of the Egyptian/Italian RoRo line, and raising the flag on the ship “Wadi Al-Arish,” inspected the superstructure work being implemented by the “Damietta Alliance” company, which operates the Long Live Egypt container terminal 1. .
Of course, Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, and Minister of Industry and Transport was with the Prime Minister on the tour with the maritime transport leaders, and Madbouly listened to an explanation about the specifications of the giant cranes at the station, as a first batch of the station’s total cranes, which number 12, which will arrive successively. As we said, it is considered one of the latest types of giant dock cranes in the world, produced by the Chinese company “HHMC”.

Ok, how will these cranes differ in maritime transport?
There is no doubt that adding these cranes to Damietta Port will contribute greatly to increasing the efficiency and speed of private loading and unloading operations and containers inside the terminal. This is a very important point that differentiates with international shipping companies, which is the speed of loading and unloading, and will give a great advantage to the ports of Egypt over Bahrain, the Mediterranean and the Mediterranean.

According to company officials, the new giant cranes are distinguished by advanced technologies and capabilities that meet the requirements for dealing with huge ships. They also have high lifting capabilities that are compatible with the heavy weights of large containers, which can reach 75 tons, but are unable to reach high heights of up to 57.5 meters from the surface of the dock, which is sufficient to handle Giant ships that extend to a height of 11 containers, with the length of the outer arm of the winch being 72 metres, which contributes to handling the largest width of these ships.

Not only that.. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly also inspected 20 electric yard cranes (RTG) dedicated to serving containers in the station’s trading yards, among 40 yard cranes that arrive successively at the station, and they are one of the latest types of electric yard cranes.

Developing Egyptian ports was President Sisi’s battle in the first days of his rule of Egypt, and it was a priority because it is Egypt’s commercial arteries and will help, along with the Suez Canal, govern Egypt and its control over global trade lines. The government spent 130 billion pounds to develop Egyptian ports.
