Zhai Jun, the Chinese government’s special envoy to the Middle East issue, and his accompanying delegation visited Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Mosque, on the sidelines of its participation in the Cairo Ministerial Conference to Strengthen the Humanitarian Response in Gaza, which was held in Cairo during the period from 2 to 4 December. They were received by Dr. Al-Moneim Fouad, supervisor of the corridors, and Dr. Hani Odeh, director of Al-Azhar Mosque.
During his visit to Al-Azhar Mosque, the Chinese government’s special envoy to the Middle East issue: I am proud of my visit, as the mosque is a beacon of culture.
During the visit, Zhai Jun expressed his great appreciation for the status of Al-Azhar Mosque, which is considered a beacon of culture, stressing the importance of cultural exchange between different cultures, which enhances the values of integration and the essence of humanitarian principles that contribute to spreading peace and love in the world.
During the tour, Dr. Hani Odeh, Director of Al-Azhar Mosque, gave an explanation about the history of Al-Azhar Mosque and the activities and programs it offers, with the aim of promoting the values of tolerance and coexistence in societies.
Dr. Abdel Moneim Fouad said that the keenness of official delegations that come to Egypt to visit Al-Azhar Mosque contributes to conveying a message to the world that Al-Azhar is a symbol of peace and coexistence, and it is also an expression of Al-Azhar’s symbolism in dialogue and acceptance of others.
