The volume of domestic liquidity in the Egyptian banking sector increased to 11.247 trillion pounds at the end of last October, compared to 8.877 trillion pounds at the end of December 2023.
The Central Bank said that the money supply recorded 2.778 trillion pounds at the end of October 2024, compared to 2.370 trillion pounds at the end of 2023, and cash in circulation outside the banking system reached 1.163 trillion pounds, compared to 1.068 trillion pounds.
He explained that demand deposits in local currency amounted to 1.614 trillion pounds at the end of last October, compared to 1.301 trillion pounds at the end of December 2023, while quasi-money recorded 8.469 trillion pounds, compared to 6.507 trillion pounds.
