The Egyptian Customs Authority issued a circular today, Friday, regarding not presenting any type of watch, regardless of the material of its manufacture, to the Jewelry and Scales Hallmark Authority.
The circular explained that what is imported for personal use is released directly from the Customs Authority, in accordance with the provisions of Article 22 of the Executive Regulations of the Import and Export Law No. 770 of 2005.
The Egyptian Customs Authority also issued instructions today, Friday, clarifying the necessary procedures and documents for companies that wish to work in the customs warehouse system as distribution centers.
The Authority stated that it is required to obtain a publication from the Central Administration of Policies and Procedures for companies that wish to work in the customs warehouse system as distribution centers after collecting the prescribed fees, if any, after submitting the documents.
She explained that the documents include the decision of the head of the Customs Authority to allocate the temporary customs warehouse in the name of the company as an approved distribution center for goods inside and outside Egypt, and the tax document extracted from the computer, basic data for the mall, explaining the company’s activity, which is to work as a distribution center for imported goods inside and outside the Republic.
The authority added that the documents also include the company’s articles of incorporation or any amending contracts that show the company’s activity, the commercial register that shows the company’s activity, as well as the Brent of those dealing with customs.
She indicated that a request is being submitted in the name of the head of the Central Department of Policies and Procedures to allow it to operate as a logistical services center for handling and distributing goods within the ports.
It confirmed that goods stored in temporary customs warehouses licensed to operate under this system are subject to the rules and procedures of discarded goods after the legally prescribed period has expired.
