Today, Wednesday, Lieutenant General Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, witnessed the signing ceremony of the cooperation contract between the Suez Canal Authority and Maersk Training, at the Authority’s headquarters in the Guidance Building in Ismailia Governorate.
The contract was signed by Engineer Yasser Al-Shashanji, Director of Communications at the Suez Canal Authority, Vijay Rangachari, Director of Maersk Training Company – Dubai, Head of the Growth and Strategic Projects Sector at the headquarters, and Omar Garbo, General Manager of Maersk Shipping Agency in Egypt and Lebanon at A.P. Muller – Maersk.
The signing ceremony was attended by David Iscoff, CEO of Maersk Training, and Hani El-Nady, representative of the A.P. Muller-Maersk group of companies in the Middle East and North Africa, and board member representing Maersk Line Agency Holding AS.
The contract stipulates that Maersk Training will provide advanced training programs for employees of the Suez Canal Authority in the areas of leadership and crisis management, in addition to providing “Train the Trainer” programs presented by a group of the company’s accredited experts, which contributes towards building human capabilities and long-term sustainable expertise at… Suez Canal Authority.
During his meeting, Lieutenant General Osama Rabie expressed his pride in the extended cooperation and partnership relations between the Suez Canal Authority and Maersk Group, which have resulted in many joint successes. He stressed the continuation of future cooperation to include new areas of work, most notably the field of training to raise the level of human resources through the establishment of two centers of excellence in Methods of leadership and crisis management in a systematic, scientific manner within the training academy of the Suez Canal Authority, which is scheduled to open early next year.
The Chairman of the Authority explained that the Suez Canal seeks to complete its ambitious development strategy by developing its human resources by preparing a distinguished generation of cadres and creative energies in the Authority’s various sectors to be able to face various challenges by providing advanced training programs in accordance with the latest scientific methods and international training methods to keep pace with the rapid developments in the field of maritime transport and industry. The Navy enables it to interact flexibly and respond soundly and quickly to various challenges.
The Chairman of the Authority indicated that the cooperation contract aims to work jointly to lay the foundation for providing specialized training content provided by the Training Academy of the Suez Canal Authority, to be a scientific edifice with international specifications to provide a distinguished training service for the Authority’s employees in the first place and in the future for the Authority’s clients, including shipping lines and shipping companies.
